FAQs
How do I get to the studio?
Our address is 31 Wesley Street, in Gardens (not Observatory!) and we are in block D of the Earthlife building.
You can park on the little one-way street right outside the studio door, or alternatively park underground, a short walk around the corner in Wembly Square. (We suggest parking outside if you are attending the late-night classes, to avoid walking alone in the dark).
Enter Block D, by ringing the intercom that says "City Cirque" and someone will buzz you in. Pop your shoes off at the door, put your bags on the shelves, find a mat, and enjoy your class!
What should I wear for aerial fitness classes?
For aerial hoop, silks, and hammocks:
-
Long pants are recommended to protect your skin and make sliding more comfortable.
-
A top that covers your armpits is also helpful to avoid chafing during moves that involve your upper body.
For pole fitness:
-
Shorts are required to allow you to grip the pole with your skin.
-
The more skin you have exposed, the better grip you'll have, so avoid wearing long pants or full-coverage tops during pole classes.
Tip! Avoid putting lotion on your body/ hands the day of class, to avoid getting slippery!
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring a nice big water bottle to stay hydrated, A sweat towel if you need one and an open mind! We provide yoga mats that get sanitized after each use, but you're still more than welcome to bring your own!
Is there a weight limit to participate in aerial fitness classes?
Absolutely not! We welcome all body shapes and sizes. Our rigging is rated, and our equipment has a load-bearing capacity of up to 400 kg, so you're perfectly safe and encouraged to join us!
Can men participate in aerial fitness classes?
Yes, absolutely! We encourage men to join us. We already have a few men in our classes. However, please be aware that the majority of participants are women, so it's important to feel comfortable in that environment.
Do I need any experience to join?
No prior experience is needed! Our classes are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced students. Our instructors will guide you at your own pace. You don't need to be super strong to start. Aerial fitness will help you build strength and flexibility over time. Many beginners start with minimal upper body strength, and that's okay!
